With October half term almost here, the Lost Gardens of Heligan is preparing a Halloween programme with a historical twist. Halloween at Heligan runs from 24 October to 1 November 2026, bringing birds, folklore and storytelling to the gardens.
During the day, Raphael Historic Falconry will present daily shows exploring nature through Victorian ideas and medieval myths. Live storytelling will also draw on the darker original tales of the Brothers Grimm, making this an outing with a little more atmosphere than the usual pumpkin hunt.
The daytime programme is included with Heligan admission. For visitors interested in an evening adventure, ghost tours require a separate ticket and have limited capacity. Heligan is also advertising a separately ticketed Folk Horror Film Festival; check the individual listings for dates and suitability.
From Hayle or St Ives, I would plan this as a full day out further afield. Check admission, show arrangements and age guidance before booking, particularly if you are travelling with younger children.
Combine a seasonal adventure with a coastal break at Golds Cornish Properties, and leave room in your holiday for beach walks and a cosy evening after your visit.
